“Bridgeway Functional Living Panel”
When decision-making is uncertain or risk factors are present, a structured functional assessment may be performed to objectively evaluate mobility, balance, cognition, and overall safety. All evaluations are conducted by a licensed Physical Therapist.
This screening is designed as a practical, real-world functional capacity evaluation—integrating standardized, evidence-based measures of strength, mobility, balance, and cognition with an assessment of the individual’s home environment and daily task performance.
Findings are compared to age-appropriate normative data and synthesized into a clear, objective functional profile and overall score.
The Bridgeway Functional Living Panel is designed to translate clinical findings into real-world meaning—providing families, physicians, and caregivers with a straightforward, unbiased understanding of current safety and functional capacity.
This allows for more confident, informed decisions regarding whether an individual:
Is appropriately placed
Can safely remain at home
Would benefit from increased support
Or should transition to a higher level of care

Meet the Founder
I’m Clay J. Eckerson PT, a licensed Physical Therapist with 30 years of experience working with adults and aging populations. Over the course of my career, I’ve had the opportunity to work closely with patients and their families during times that are often uncertain, stressful, and filled with difficult decisions.
What I saw again and again was that families were being asked to make important choices—about safety, care, and next steps—without clear guidance. Especially during the transition between home, hospital, and long-term care, there was often a gap between what people needed and the support available to help them think it through.
That’s why I created Bridgeway.
My goal is to help bring clarity to those moments. I take a practical, straightforward approach—helping families assess function and safety, understand their options, and move forward with confidence. Every situation is different, and I try to meet people where they are, without pressure or unnecessary complexity.
At the end of the day, I approach this work the same way I would if it were my own family—focused on doing what’s right, making things simpler, and helping people feel more certain about the path ahead.
